A couple of days ago, it dawned on me that when I purchased my laptop a few years ago I had to put Sims 3 in compatibility mode in order to play. I decided to take it out of compatibility mode, and now it works!

WebbHiya, sorry I have the same issue with launching the sims 3 game. I've not played it sims 3 on this laptop before and after i click play in the sims 3 launcher, it just loads and then the EA app pops up again. i installed DX9 manually following your instructions and also reinstalled .net framework 3.5. Is there anything else you suggest? Thank you

When I clicked play it launched the Sims 3 launcher like it used to do.
